FJH Unit 3

Goals for this Unit:​

- Reinforce proper hand position, posture, and finger number assignments. Students will continue to develop the skill of finding a hand position from a fingering chart.

- Continue to reinforce quarter, half, dotted half, and whole note rhythms. Students will be able to read, count, play, and compose with these rhythms by the end of the unit on the music staff.

- Introduce Time Signatures. Students will begin to learn the difference between 4/4 Time (4 beats per measure) and 3/4 Time (3 beats per measure).

-Continue to introduce reading the Musical Alphabet on the Music Staff. Students will begin to be able to identify to find and match notes on the staff to piano keys. Students will be able to play, read, and compose with Middle and Regular C Position Notes (C3-G4) by the end of the unit.

- Students will be able to identify and compose in AABA form by the end of the  unit.
