EGM Unit 5
Goals for this Unit:​
- Continue to reinforce proper guitar hold and hand position
- Reinforce playing combinations of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd String Notes on the guitar (E, F, G, B, C, D, G, and A) as well as quarter, half, and . Students will be able to combine these notes with new concepts introduced in this unit.
- Further reinforcement of notes G and A on the 3rd string of the guitar in more complex combination of notes on the 1st and 2nd string.
- Introduction of 3/4 time (3 beats per measure) and the dotted half note rhythm. Students will learn to read, count, play, and compose with these concepts in conjunction with previously taught rhythm concepts.
- Reinforcement of Tie and Pick Up note concepts with rhythms presented in this unit.
