EGM Unit 18
Goals for this Unit:​
- Continue to reinforce proper guitar hold and hand position
- Reinforce playing combinations of the notes on all 6 Strings on the guitar in first position (1st Fret) as well as eighth, quarter, dotted quarter, half, dotted half, and whole note rhythms. Students will also be able to interpret and apply sharp and natural signs to reading skills. Students will be able to combine these things with new concepts introduced in this unit.
- Introduction of the concept of Flat Signs and a review of the role of Natural Signs in a piece of music. Students will be able to read, play, and compose with flat and natural signs after completing this unit. Students will also learn how to do Hammer Ons, and will be able to read, play, and compose with Hammer Ons.
Concept Songs: None- Each song assignment in this unit is a concept song used to both teach and practice the hammer-on skills.
