EGM Unit 15
Goals for this Unit:​
- Continue to reinforce proper guitar hold and hand position
- Reinforce playing combinations of the notes on all 6 Strings on the guitar in first position (1st Fret) as well as eighth, quarter, dotted quarter, half, dotted half, and whole note rhythms. Students will also continue to build on chord playing and reading with C, G7, and G 1-finger chords. Students will also be able to interpret and apply sharp and natural signs to reading skills. Students will be able to combine these notes with new concepts introduced in this unit.
- Introduction of notes found at the Fifth Fret of the Guitar on strings 1 through 6. Students will be able to read, play, and compose with these rhythms along with other mastered notes and rhythms on the Guitar. Students will work toward recognizing staff notes that have more than one fingering on their instrument, as well as apply this to the concept of moving Harmonic 3rds.
